DETROIT— Border Patrol agents from the Gibraltar Station arrested a previously convicted aggravated felon. The subject has been formally deported twice by US authorities.

On March 19, at approximately 11:30 am, agents responded to information provided from an Operation Stonegarden partner and encountered Ronald Henry Urquilla in Wyandotte, Michigan.  Records checks revealed Urquilla, a 36-year-old native of El Salvador, has two felony convictions.

Urquilla was arrested in 2005 by the Freeport, Texas Police Department and convicted of Burglary and ordered removed by an Immigration Judge in April 2006. He was encountered again in 2007 by agents assigned to the Brownsville, Texas Border Patrol Station and convicted of 8 USC 1326(b)(2), Re-entry of an Aggravated Felon, and removed again in September 2007.

“This arrest is the result of enhanced cooperation achieved through Operation Stonegarden,” said Acting Chief Patrol Agent R. Alan Booth.  “Our streets are safer with this criminal off the streets and out of our community.”

Ronald Henry Urquilla will have his Prior Order of Removal reinstated and has been presented to the United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution of 8 USC 1326(b)(2).
