BLAINE, Wash. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations officers at the Peace Arch Port of Entry took a 36-year-old Federal Way man into custody when an outstanding National Crime Information Center warrant was found during a routine examination.
Fingerprints confirmed the NCIC warrant match for drug-related charges. The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office transported the man to their Bellingham facility to await extradition.
“I am proud of my officers’ continued vigilance and their commitment to keeping communities safe”, said Area Port Director Kenneth Williams. “The men and women of CBP are dedicated individuals who perform their duties with pride and professionalism.”
NCIC is a centralized automated database designed to share information among law enforcement agencies including outstanding warrants for a wide range of offenses.
Based on information from NCIC, CBP officers on the U.S./Canadian border have made previous arrests of individuals wanted for homicide, escape, money laundering, robbery, narcotics distribution, sexual child abuse, fraud, larceny, and military desertion.
