El Centro Sector Pulls the Reigns Tight on Smuggling

OCOTILLO, CALIF.—On March 17, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector Horse Patrol Unit disrupted a human smuggling event resulting in the arrest of 15 illegal aliens.

The incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m., when a Horse Patrol Unit spotted a vehicle driving north across the United States/Mexico Boundary with its lights out. As responding agents neared the green Chevrolet Tahoe, it then came to a stop and a large group of people exited the vehicle and scattered throughout the desert. The members of the Horse Patrol Unit were able to secure the vehicle, and shortly after arrested a total of 15 illegal aliens, 14 males, and one female all Mexican Nationals.

The Tahoe was seized and all 15 individuals are in U.S. Border Patrol custody.
