El Centro Sector Border Patrol Apprehends Convicted Sex Offender

CALEXICO, Calif. – Monday, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station arrested a previously deported convicted sex offender near Calexico West Port of Entry.

Border Patrol agents apprehended a 29-year-old man approximately one-half of a mile east of the port when he illegally entered into the United States. The man was later identified as Luis Manuel Picaso Sandoval, a citizen of Mexico.  

Border Patrol agents conducted a criminal record checks that revealed Picaso was a convicted sex offender charged for sexual assault of a minor under the age of fourteen.  Picaso was sentenced to serve ninety days in prison on May 11, 2009 in Fresno.

Picaso is being processed for Re-Entry After Removal as a convicted sex offender.
