CALEXICO, Calif. – Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station arrested a previously deported convicted sex offender near Calexico West Port of Entry.
The 27-year-old man was apprehended by Border Patrol agents approximately one mile west of the port while attempting to illegally enter into the United States. The man was later identified as Juan Jose Hernandez Cayetano, a citizen of Mexico.
Border Patrol agents conducted a criminal record checks and revealed that Hernandez is a convicted sex offender charged for unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Hernandez was convicted for the sexual offenses and sentenced on Aug. 2012 in Tulare County to serve ninety days in prison.
Hernandez is being processed for Re-Entry After Removal as a convicted sex offender.
