Del Rio, Texas -Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass South Station seized approximately 500 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $400,000 this past weekend.
Saturday morning, an agent observed a trail leading away from the Rio Grande River. The trail led to an abandoned milk truck located on a local ranch. In plain view, the agent noticed 12 feed sacks placed in the back of the milk truck. Upon closer inspection, the agent discovered small bricks of marijuana wrapped in brown packing tape inside the feed sacks.
A search of the area, for further contraband or subjects connected to the marijuana, was negative. A total of 240 small bricks, wrapped in brown packing tape, were discovered inside the feed sacks. The contraband was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
