Eagle Pass Border Patrol Agents Arrest Sex Offender

Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass Station apprehended a convicted sex offender Monday morning.

Agents patrolling in Eagle Pass encountered Karen Fidelina Portillo-Romero, 22, an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador. During processing, agents discovered that Portillo-Romero had been previously deported from the United States. Criminal records checks revealed that Portillo-Romero was convicted of sexual contact with a minor and sentenced to three years incarceration.

Portillo-Romero will be processed for removal from the United States and her prior order of removal will be reinstated.
