TUCSON, Ariz. – Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Douglas woman Friday (Jan. 8) at the Port of Douglas (Raul Hector Castro POE) for an alleged attempt to smuggle almost 120 pounds of marijuana worth nearly $60,000.
Officers arrested Yamileth Guadalupe Lucero, 19, after an inspection of her Volvo SUV led to the discovery of marijuana hidden within the floors and roof of the vehicle.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and turned Lucero over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
