Del Rio Station Border Patrol Agents Arrest Previously Deported Sex Offender

DEL RIO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Border Patrol Station arrested a convicted sex offender shortly after he illegally entered the United States, March 22.

Agents transporting migrants, from an area under the Del Rio International Bridge to the station for processing, arrested a man previously convicted of sexual assault of child.

During processing, agents discovered the 42-year-old Mexican national was convicted of indecency with a child and sexual assault of a child in Kerrville in 2011 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was deported in 2019.

As a convicted felon, he faces a charge of 8 USC § 1326 – Re-entry after Deportation, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
