Del Rio Sector: 24 Hours
DEL RIO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents, during a 24-hour period, seized narcotics, apprehended multiple individuals and encountered a cartel member with multiple gunshot wounds, Jan. 9.
“These multiple events marked just one busy day in Del Rio Sector,” said Chief Patrol Agent Raul L. Ortiz. “I would like to thank the agents who worked with each other and our law enforcement partners to bring each of these events to a safe and successful resolution.”
On Jan. 9, agents assigned to various stations throughout Del Rio Sector encountered five Chinese, three Bangladeshi and five Haitian nationals and apprehended a total of 107 illegal aliens.
In Eagle Pass, agents encountered five bundles containing a total of 93.9 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $75,120. The contraband was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
In Carrizo Springs, agents located a subject with multiple gunshot wounds believed to a cartel member avoiding arrest from the Government of Mexico. The subject was treated and transported to a medical facility.
