Seized Assault Rifle ammo Magazines

Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Station seized a total of 531 high-caliber assault rifle ammunition magazines.

Sunday morning, agents received a report of several abandoned suspicious bags containing rifle magazines in a local neighborhood. When agents arrived on scene, they found three bags and a cardboard box containing a total of 531 military grade .223-caliber rifle magazines. The magazines were turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Over the past three months, Border Patrol agents and CBP officers in the Del Rio/Eagle Pass area have seized a total of 1,360 high-capacity magazines, along with 30,560 rounds of ammunition and 53 assault rifles.
