Del Rio Agents, Texas DPS Respond to Failure to Yield

DEL RIO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector’s Del Rio Station responded to a failure to yield March 10.

At approximately 9 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety troopers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop near Jessica Lane in Del Rio. The driver failed to yield and drove the vehicle into Cienegas Creek. Del Rio Station agents and members of the boat unit responded to the area to assist with rescue efforts. Nine migrants were recovered from the vehicle and transferred to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for evaluation. The driver of the vehicle absconded into Mexico.

All subjects taken into custody are processed in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection policies.
