TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, DACA, recipient for smuggling an illegal alien man near Lukeville Tuesday night.

Tucson Sector agents working the primary inspection lane at the State Route 85 immigration checkpoint referred the two occupants of a Kia sedan to secondary inspection at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday. During the inspection, agents determined the driver, a 29-year-old woman living in Colorado, was smuggling the passenger, a 21-year-old Mexican national illegally present in the United States.

Agents seized the vehicle. The DACA recipient will be held in custody under human smuggling charges while the illegal alien man will be processed for immigration violations.
