CBP U.S. Border Patrol Arrests Gang Member

Yuma, Ariz. - A member of the Eastside Playboys gang was arrested by CBP U.S. Border Patrol agents from Yuma Sector's Blythe Station yesterday.

Last night, at approximately 9:30, agents patrolling near Wickenburg, Ariz. observed the suspicious behavior of the driver of a brown minivan. Agents pulled the vehicle over and arrested two individuals that admitted to being in the U.S. illegally. After further investigation, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle was a member of the Eastside Playboys Gang of Los Angeles, Calif. The suspected gang member had an extensive criminal history, including battery, possession of stolen property and multiple DUI's. The suspect is being processed for removal.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
