CBP U.S. Border Patrol Agents In South Texas Seize Rifle Magazines

Del Rio, TX - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass North Station seized more than 300 AK-47 magazines Tuesday morning.

Inside the duffel bags were 328 AK-47 rifle magazines estimated to be worth nearly $5,000.

Agents working near the Rio Grande River found three military-style duffel bags abandoned in the brush. Inside the duffel bags were 328 AK-47 rifle magazines estimated to be worth nearly $5,000. The magazines were turned over to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
