Global Entry, a CBP Trusted Traveler Program, allows for expedited clearance of pre-approved, low-risk travelers. Currently available at 53 U.S. airports and 15 Preclearance locations, Global Entry streamlines the international arrivals process at airports for trusted travelers.

“CBP is eager to innovate our approach to assist the traveling public through a speedy entry into the U.S.,” said CBP Director of Field Operations, Judson W. Murdock II. “Collaborating with local businesses and government, as we have with The Woodlands Township, is one of many ways our agency works to provide a needed service for travelers.”

“We’re proud to be chosen as a community that will partner with CBP for an enrollment center for Global Entry,” said Gordy Bunch, Chairman of The Woodlands Township. “I can tell you there are hundreds of residents here locally who will utilize this service. It’s a tremendously popular program, so this is a real value to The Woodlands residents who are frequent international business travelers. It’s just another way we can serve our residents while continuing to add amenities that will also attract regional visitors.”

This is the second enrollment center in Texas making use of a public facility and will be available for use every other Thursday at The Woodlands Township.

“With only two such enrollment centers currently available in the Houston area, we think this will be a substantial draw to visit The Woodlands,” said Bruce Rieser, Chairman of Visit The Woodlands, an organization that promotes travel and tourism to The Woodlands. “It is amenities like this that make a real difference for a community to be able to continue drawing visitors. We’re excited to be able to support bringing such an amenity to The Woodlands.”

There are many benefits to becoming a Global Entry member including:

  • No queuing for passport control checks;
  • No paper customs declaration form;
  • Global Entry membership can be accessed at many of the leading U.S. airports;
  • Expedited processing (kiosk usage can take as little as 45 seconds);
  • No minimum number of international trips required to qualify for the Global Entry program.

Global Entry is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. Legal Permanent Residents as well as citizens of certain countries with which CBP has trusted traveler arrangements, including Argentina, Colombia, Germany, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Canadian citizens and residents enrolled in NEXUS may also use the Global Entry kiosks.

With this new enrollment site, there are now a total of 11 Global Entry Enrollment Centers in Texas. Enrollment centers can be found in Austin, Brownsville, Dallas/Ft. Worth, El Paso, Hidalgo, Laredo, San Antonio, and four locations in the Houston area. More than 4 million Global Entry members bypass traditional CBP inspection lines and use an automated kiosk to complete their admission to the United States. Global Entry members can advantage of the TSA Pre✓™ program as well.
