CBP Officers Seize Liquid Methamphetamine in Horse Shampoo Containers at Pharr International Bridge

PHARR, Texas –U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Hidalgo, Pharr, Anzalduas Port of Entry this weekend encountered a traveler with horse shampoo bottles containing nearly 62 pounds of alleged liquid methamphetamine.

“Our officers continue to excel at preventing dangerous drugs from entering our country,” said Port Director Efrain Solis, Hidalgo, Pharr, Anzalduas Port of Entry. 

The seizure occurred at Pharr International Bridge on January 20, when CBP officers referred a 31-year-old female United States citizen from Fort Worth, Texas for a secondary inspection. CBP officers conducted a thorough examination and with the help of a canine team, discovered 61.86 pounds of alleged liquid methamphetamine in horse shampoo containers. The narcotics carry an estimated street value of $1,237,222.

CBP OFO seized the narcotics arrested the woman, and turned her over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents for further investigation.
