Yesterday, two vehicles occupied by U.S. citizens were encountered at the Lewiston Bridge Port of Entry.  During the initial inspection, the U.S. citizens admitted to being in possession of marijuana and firearms.  During a secondary inspection, it was revealed that the weapons were possessed unlawfully in New York State and subsequently the marijuana, firearms and four subjects were turned over to the New York State Police to face felony weapons charges.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations works in collaboration with law enforcement partners, to include Federal, state and local agencies.  “Our CBP officers work diligently to secure the border, ensuring that illicit items are not entering the country and that laws are enforced. We have an outstanding relationship with our state and local partners, which led to the arrests of these suspects,” said Acting Area Port Director Richard Roberts.
