Eagle Pass, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry recently detained a Del Rio man wanted for sexual assault of a child.
On Tuesday afternoon, CBP officers working at the Eagle Pass International Bridge inspected a black Hyundai Veloster, bearing Texas license plates. Records checks revealed that the driver, Alejandro Valdes Falcon, 21, was wanted on an outstanding warrant for sexual assault of a child. Falcon, a citizen of Mexico, was detained and turned over to the Maverick Country Sheriff's Office.
"The thorough and comprehensive inspections performed by our frontline CBP officers at the port of entry resulted in this significant apprehension," said Cynthia O. Rodriguez, CBP Port Director, Eagle Pass. "Homeland security is our primary mission but apprehensions like this help keep our communities safe."
