CHAMPLAIN, N.Y.—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced today the arrest of a U.S. citizen wanted on felony charges of theft.

On March 13, CBP officers working at the Champlain port of entry encountered 58-year-old Erkut Aksoy, a U.S. citizen from Merrick, N.Y.

During the secondary examination, additional record checks confirmed that Aksoy was the subject of an active arrest warrant issued out of Las Vegas, Nevada for multiple charges of felony theft.

CBP officers verified the warrant and confirmed extradition to Nevada. Aksoy was arrested by CBP and turned over to the custody of the New York State Police pending extradition.
