CBP Laredo Sector Border Patrol Welcomes New Agents

Laredo, TX - U.S. Customs and Border Protection Laredo Border Patrol Sector welcomed newly hired Border Patrol agent trainees who completed several months of training at the Border Patrol Academy located in Artesia, New Mexico.

The Border Patrol Academy is one of the most rigorous and demanding law enforcement training programs in the country that provides all Border Patrol-specific courses including immigration and nationality law, applied authority, Border Patrol operations, firearms training, physical techniques and defensive tactics, motor vehicle operation, and anti-terrorism training.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Laredo Border Patrol Sector welcomed newly hired Border Patrol agent trainees.

Locally, the trainees will receive additional local orientation training then be assigned to the Laredo South and West Station. Acting Deputy Chief Michael R. DeBruhl welcomed the agents to Laredo Sector and said, "I have no doubt that all of you will rise to the challenge, and all the responsibilities that are in your career ahead. You trained with the best, make yourself and the community proud of who you are."

CBP U.S. Border Patrol currently employees more than 20,000 agents nationwide who are tasked with securing America's borders and disrupting any attempt to do harm to our nation.
