CBP to host town hall meetings to discuss hour changes at three North Dakota ports

Release Date:
October 22, 2019

PEMBINA, N.D. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection will hold informational town hall meetings to discuss proposed adjusted hours of operation at the Antler, Carbury and Maida Ports of Entry.

The Ports of Antler, Carbury and Maida were identified for modification of operational hours to realign resources to workload.  This adjustment will allow CBP to maintain our inspectional and enforcement missions, and redirect resources to ports with greater commercial and passenger volumes.

“Minimal traffic after 5 p.m., along with fiscal responsibility with taxpayer money were a determining factor for the adjustment of hours at Maida, Carbury and Antler,” said Seattle Field Office Director of Field Operations Adele Fasano.

The current hours of operation for the Port of Antler are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m, which coincide with the hours of operation at the adjacent Canadian Port of Lyleton, Manitoba.  Effective Nov. 24, the proposed new hours of operation at Antler are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The hours of operation at the Canadian Port of Lyleton will remain unchanged. Travelers wishing to cross into the United States when the port is closed may cross at the Sherwood POE, open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. or at the Westhope POE, open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
