EAGLE PASS, Texas– U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from the Eagle Pass Port of Entry in collaboration with the City of Eagle Pass, through its Business & Economic Development Committee (BEDC), is pleased to announce the launch of a collaborative awareness campaign to promote CBP’s Trusted Traveler Programs.

The awareness campaign will kick-off with a reception on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 5 p.m. at the International Center for Trade (ICT). This multi-month campaign will bring awareness to CBP’s Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI), Free and Secure Trade (FAST), Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and Global Entry Trusted Traveler Programs.

The Eagle Pass Port Director Paul Del Rincon along with City of Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu and a delegation from the BEDC have met to discuss several available options to help reduce border wait times at Eagle Pass’s international bridges.

As a result, Port Director Del Rincon has implemented several initiatives to tackle border wait times, which include a new campaign to issue I-94 tourist permits at the Mall de las Aguilas, promotion of Ready Lanes, and an All Lanes Open Initiative.

These initiatives have proved to be very successful and are helping to control traffic congestion at both international bridges.

“Port Director Del Rincon has shown his willingness to work with local officials to reduce inspection times at our ports, which is certainly going to support economic growth in Eagle Pass,” says Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu. “Enforcement procedures that CBP upholds help protect national security and I am pleased that Director Del Rincon is providing strong leadership to help expedite travel time for our visitors,” adds Mayor English-Cantu.

“CBP is committed to public safety and we are certainly trying to use every tool available to us to make inspections as quick as possible without compromising national security,” says Port Director Paul Del Rincon. “This collaborative Trusted Traveler Awareness Campaign is definitely a great opportunity for travelers,” adds Del Rincon.
