CBP Border Patrol Open House Set for May 2
MARFA, Texas – The U.S. Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector will host an Open House on Wednesday, May 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sector Headquarters, located at 300 Madrid Street in Marfa.
The event is open to the public. Schools and their students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Tools and equipment used by Border Patrol Agents in their daily operations will be on display. Items such as patrol cars, trucks, ATVs, search & rescue equipment, surveillance equipment and Special Operations Group gear will be displayed and demonstrated. There will also be agents and horses from the Sector Horse Patrol Unit. Canine teams will be on hand to provide demonstrations.
Additionally, Customs and Border Protection’s Air and Marine Operations (AMO) will have a helicopter on display. CBP’s Office of Field Operations (OFO) will be available to discuss port of entry operations.
Finally, U.S. Border Patrol Recruiters will be on hand to answer questions about career opportunities.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
