CBP Begins Agriculture Processing at Ogdensburg-Prescott Bridge
OGDENSBURG, N.Y. – Effective March 12 through May 28, 2018, the Ogdensburg Port of Entry will begin accepting, on an interim basis, commercial shipments of regulated agriculture products. A Customs and Border Protection Agriculture Specialist will be available to process these shipments and to provide guidance to potential importers, brokers, or other interested parties.
Operating hours for commercial agriculture processing will be Monday through Wednesday, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, until May 28, 2018.
Stakeholders, the public, and commercial trade partners can reach the CBP agriculture specialist at (315) 393-1390, Ext. 2790.
“This is an exciting opportunity to establish an additional outlet for agriculture trade and growth in the local area,” said Ogdensburg Port Director Thomas Trimboli.
“Trade has an important role to play in improving and fostering agriculture for our communities in the North Country,” said Alexandria Bay Area Port Director Timothy Walker. “Opening our borders, and removing trade barriers is beneficial to promoting economic growth within the agriculture industry.”
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry.
