HOUSTON – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested a passenger at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport with an outstanding federal arrest warrant,

Sept. 11.

The traveler, a 34-year-old lawful permanent resident, attempted to depart the United States to Mexico with a final destination of Cuba.  He was wanted for murder in Los Angeles County, California when CBP officers arrested him.

CBP officers turned the traveler over to Houston Police Department for extradition to Los Angeles, California.

On a typical day in 2015, CBP officers arrested 23 wanted persons per day at U.S. ports of entry around the country.
