CBP Apprehends Homicide Suspect at Tecate Port of Entry

TECATE, CALIF.—U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Tecate port of entry recently apprehended a 21-year-old fugitive with an outstanding felony warrant for homicide.

On Monday, January 9, at about 3:00 pm, Jose Legaspi Jr. entered the port as a pedestrian and presented a California identification card and U.S. birth certificate to the CBP officer. The CBP officer queried Legaspi's information in law enforcement databases and was alerted that he was wanted.

CBP officers conducted a ten-print query utilizing the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System confirming Legaspi's identity and that he was wanted for homicide by the Modesto Police Department on a no bail warrant.

CBP officers processed Legaspi and booked him into the San Diego Central Jail.

Legaspi is listed on the Modesto Police Department Crime Stoppers Most Wanted list.
