International Falls, Minn. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) wishes to inform the public that the Inspection Station at Crane Lake, Minnesota will extend the hours of operation in accordance with the summer tourist season.
Effective May 14, the hours of operation for the inspection stations at Crane Lake will be as follows:

The Crane Lake border station is located on Crane Lake adjacent to Voyageurs National Park. There are no roads into or out of Canada in this remote wilderness area. All travel into and from Canada is by small boat, canoe, kayak, snowmobile and aircraft. Applications for the I-68 permit can be made in person at the Crane Lake border station during normal business hours. The I68 permit allows boaters to enter the United States from Canada for recreational purposes and report their arrival to CBP from a telephone at the earliest opportunity.
The Crane Lake, Minnesota inspection station is operational 365 days a year with reduced hours provided during the winter.
