CBP Announces New Hours at St. Lucie County International Airport

Fort Pierce, Fla. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection will extend daily hours of operation at St. Lucie County International Airport later this month as part of ongoing efforts to meet the needs of South Florida's aviation community. Increased operational hours will better facilitate the flow of legitimate travel.

Beginning Saturday, May 26, CBP will extend operation from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

CBP's West Palm Beach Port Director Jennifer Connors said, "South Florida is a destination for international travel arriving from the Bahamas, Caribbean islands, Central and South America. CBP is committed to meeting the needs of the private sector."

Connors also said "The changes to the hours of operation will provide the opportunity for morning flights to clear in Fort Pierce." The hours of operation are being extended from the current 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
