Brackettville Border Patrol Agents Arrest Convicted Sex Offender

BRACKETTVILLE, Texas U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Brackettville Station arrested a Guatmelan national, convicted of sexual battery.   

On Dec. 4, Anibal Alay-Guzman, a Guatemalan national, was apprehended by Brackettville Border Patrol agents on a local ranch. During processing, agents discovered that Alay-Guzman was arrested in Arlington,Virginia for sexual battery on Nov. 29, 2012. Alay-Guzman was convicted of the sexual battery on Jan. 4, 2013. Alay-Guzman was subsequently deported to Guatemala on March 14, 2013. Records checks also indicated that Alay-Guzman has an active warrant for probation violation out of Arlington,Virginia.

Alay-Guzman faces a charge of illegal re-entry after deportation – 8 USC § 1326 – and his prior order of removal will be reinstated.

The Del Rio Border Patrol Sector is part of the Joint Task Force-West South Texas Corridor, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations.
