TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents, in separate incidents over the weekend, apprehended previously deported illegal aliens with substantial criminal records.

Saturday morning, agents assigned to the Casa Grande Station arrested a 47-year-old Honduran national, Pedro Flores-Ramirez, after he illegally entered the country.

Processing agents at the Casa Grande Station conducting a records check discovered Flores was previously convicted of numerous crimes in Los Angeles, California. Flores served lengthy prison sentences for assault with intent to rape, kidnapping and two separate narcotics charges stemming from a 2009 arrest.

In a separate incident, Douglas Station agents arrested Hector Pulido-Cruz, a Mexican national, who entered the country illegally Sunday evening. Agents discovered Pulido was convicted in Chilton County, Alabama, for vehicular homicide and was sentenced to six years in prison in 2008.

Both men are currently being held in federal custody pending prosecution for criminal immigration violations.

All persons apprehended by the Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal aliens with criminal histories are positively identified.
