Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Carrizo Springs Station arrested a Mexican Mafia member Thursday morning.
Agents patrolling near Asherton, Texas received a report of a burglary in progress. When agents arrived at the scene they saw a subject fleeing from a residence. Agents gave chase and took the individual into custody and recovered two rifles and a shotgun in the area.
The subject, a 24-year-old United States Citizen, admitted to being an active member of the Mexican Mafia criminal organization. Record checks indicated that he is wanted burglary of habitation and various probation violations.
The stolen property and the subject were turned over to the Dimmit County Sheriffs Office.
