YUMA, Ariz. — Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to Wellton Station and working the Interstate 8 checkpoint discovered a total of 24 pounds of meth in two separate incidents Friday with a combined value of approximately $120,000.
Agents conducting an immigration inspection referred a vehicle for a secondary inspection following a canine alert. During their inspection, agents discovered several packages containing a combined 12 pounds of methamphetamine.
Later at the same checkpoint, agents referred another vehicle for a secondary inspection following a canine alert and discovered several more packages containing another 12 pounds of methamphetamine.
Both vehicles, drivers and drugs were taken to Wellton Station for processing.
