TUCSON, Ariz. –Border Patrol agents from Tucson Sector’s Ajo Station responded to four 9-1-1 calls over the weekend, resulting in the arrest of eight illegal immigrants.
On Saturday, agents working in the west desert responded to three 9-1-1 calls involving a total of six men: four Mexican nationals and two from El Salvador. Most were just lost and tired while a few said they had gone without food and water for three days.
Agents received two calls Sunday concerning a total of five men: two Mexican nationals and three from El Salvador. That evening, one of three El Salvadorans walked back to Mexico and reported to a humanitarian group that two others were lost in the desert on the U.S. side of the border. The information was relayed to the Ajo Station and agents successfully located both individuals.
All subjects were apprehended for immigration violations and are being processed in accordance with Tucson Sector guidelines.
