Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Comstock Border Patrol Station seized more than 77 pounds of marijuana, valued at more than $61,000 Tuesday.
Around 10:30 a.m., a K-9 alerted to a Chevrolet pickup at an immigration checkpoint east of Comstock, Texas. The vehicle was referred to a secondary inspection area where agents found packages of marijuana hidden in the glove box, a speaker box, and behind the back rest of both front seats and backseat. Seventy small packages weighing a total 77 pounds were seized.
The driver, a United States citizen, and the contraband were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
