LAREDO, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents on Tuesday apprehended a suspected driver wanted in connection with a recent smuggling attempt.
The initial event happened on October 25, when agents apprehended 16 subjects after a truck crashed and bailed out in a local ranch. Agents were unable to apprehend the driver of the vehicle at the time, but the ongoing investigation allowed for the driver to be positively identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Then on November 6, Border Patrol agents conducting checkpoint operations on Farm-to-Market Road 1017 encountered the suspect when he presented himself for an immigration inspection. His identity was verified and he was arrested and turned over to the U.S. Marshals.
