TUCSON, Ariz. –U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Casa Grande Station arrested a confirmed MS-13 gang member near Quijotoa, Sept. 27.
The subject, identified as Gersson Fabricio Reyes-Ascencio, an El Salvadorian national, was found to be illegally present in the United States and brought to the Casa Grande Station for processing where his affiliation in the transnational criminal organization was discovered, and he was processed for immigration violations.
All persons apprehended by the Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal immigrants with criminal histories are positively identified.
