Border Patrol Agents Arrest Man Wanted on Sexual Assault Charge

Falfurrias, Texas U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector arrested a man Wednesday morning who is wanted in Oregon on a sexual assault charge.

The man, who is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, was arrested on a ranch by agents assigned to the Kingsville Station while attempting to circumvent a Border Patrol checkpoint.

When agents ran a records check on the man they discovered that he had a full extradition warrant on a sexual assault charge out of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Hillsboro, Ore.  He was turned over to the Brooks County Sheriff's Office to await extradition.
