LAREDO, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Laredo Port of Entry is advising the traveling public that southbound approaches to the toll plaza at Juarez-Lincoln Bridge will be temporarily reduced to two lanes during ongoing construction efforts and advises motorists to plan accordingly.

“We wanted to advise the international traveling public that due to ongoing construction work at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge facility that southbound approaches to the toll plaza will be reduced to two lanes, one Automated Vehicle Interface (AVI) lane, one regular lane starting Monday, Oct. 15. Traffic will then fan out to the regular toll booths. Full southbound traffic will be restored the morning of Oct. 19,” said Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry.  “We remain in close communication with our partners at General Services Administration (GSA), City of Laredo Bridge System and encourage the traveling public to build extra time into your southbound travel plans and to consider alternate crossing locations such as Gateway to the Americas Bridge and Colombia-Solidarity Bridge.”

Starting on the morning of Monday, Oct. 15 through the morning of Friday, Oct. 19 ongoing construction work will require the temporary closure of two approach lanes close to the AVI lane, leaving only one regular traffic lane approach and the AVI lane approach to the toll plaza open to southbound vehicular traffic at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge during that period. These two lanes will fan out to the regular toll booths at the bridge. Starting on Friday, Oct. 19 through the weekend, the southbound approaches to the AVI lane will be closed and will reopen on Monday, Oct. 22.

Southbound travelers are encouraged to build extra time into their southbound travel if they plan to use Juarez-Lincoln Bridge and are strongly encouraged to utilize other crossings for southbound travel, including Gateway to the Americas Bridge and Colombia Solidarity Bridge.
