Calexico, Calif. - On Wednesday, April 13, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico station seized 28 pounds of heroin concealed within a truck.
At approximately 11:45 a.m., a blue truck driven by a 51 year-old male approached the primary inspection area of the Interstate 8 checkpoint. A Border Patrol canine team conducted a cursory inspection and alerted to the vehicle. Agents investigated further and discovered several packages concealed within the vehicle containing heroin with a street value of $900,000.
The driver, narcotics and vehicle were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
