Agents Render Aid to Injured Civilian on New Year’s Eve

CALEXICO, Calif. – A U.S. Border Patrol agent assigned to the El Centro Sector rendered aid to an injured civilian, New Year’s Eve.

At approximately 11:20 a.m., an on-duty agent encountered the injured individual in the Imperial County Sand Dunes, desert area, east of Calexico, near the U.S./Mexico border.

As the agent approached the individual, he determined that the person was injured due to a fall from an All-Terrain Vehicle. Additional agents responded, conducted a welfare check of, and determined that the individual needed additional medical assistance. 

El Centro Sector Dispatch was notified and requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the location of the fall. REACH EMS arrived and transported the individual via air ambulance to a local hospital.
