During the early morning hours of September 16, Border Patrol agents were made aware of individuals that had crossed into the United States from Canada near Richford, VT, in an area not designated as an official Port of Entry.  The two people were then picked up by someone driving a small hatch-back vehicle.  Agents located the vehicle near the Richford Fire Department and conducted a vehicle stop.  The adult female driver of the vehicle is a citizen of Canada.  The two adult passengers are Mexican citizens, a man and a woman, who do not have legal immigration status in the United States. Agents took the three subjects into custody and brought them to the Border Patrol station for processing.

On September 17, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Richford Border Patrol agents apprehended a man who had illegally crossed into the United States from Canada near Pidgeon Hill Road in Franklin, VT.  The man is a Mexican citizen that does not have legal immigration status in the United States.  Agents transported the man to the Border Patrol station for processing.

The quick response by Richford agents resulted in the apprehension of three illegal aliens,” said Richford Station Patrol Agent in Charge Richard Parker. “These apprehensions are another great example of the hard work Border Patrol agents do every day to make our communities safer and secure our nation’s border.”

The three Mexican citizens were placed into removal proceedings and turned over to ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations.  The Canadian woman was released pending an investigation.
