TUCSON, Ariz. –Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents from the Ajo Station arrested 15 individuals and seized more than 518 pounds of marijuana Saturday, worth almost $260,000.
Ajo agents working with two helicopter crews from Air & Marine Operations tracked foot prints in the desert and caught up with 13 Mexican nationals and two Guatemalans. The group had illegally crossed the U.S. border with 21 bales of marijuana weighing more than 518 pounds combined.
The suspects are being processed on drug smuggling charges and for immigration violations.
