In the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, ground zero was closed to the media: capturing the historical significance of the event was tasked to FEMA/Released videographers and photographers. “Those images we shared with the teams allows those team members to tell their stories, and to help relate what it really felt like to be there,” said FEMA/Released Photographer Michael Rieger.
