Employment and Income Verification

No more searching for pay stubs! CBP employees can access automated income and employment verification information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether you are applying for a loan, leasing an apartment, providing information for a reference check, or doing anything else that requires proof of employment or income, you can use The Work Number® services to help keep your life moving.

The Work Number from Equifax not only provides automated income and employment verifications but it also gives you control of the information sharing process. The Work Number database complies with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. All DHS employees are eligible to sign up for The Work Number digital verification services at no cost.  Register today!

CBP employees will use the DHS Employer Code (11363) when registering or accessing their account.

Available Services

Employment Data Reports

Your Employment Data Report (EDR) provides your current and historical employment and income information on The Work Number database, as well as a list of all verifiers who have requested your information in the previous two years. The EDR is available to you for free.

Data Freeze

Employees can contact The Work Number Service Center at 800-367-2884 to request a data freeze on employment information available to verifiers.

Get a Salary Key

A salary key is a single-use, six-digit code that you can provide to a verifier as consent to access your income information.  Your consent is provided at point-of-application (for example, when you sign a loan application).

The new salary key can be printed or emailed with instructions for the verifier on how to use it through The Work Number. At any point, you can select the “Salary Key Activity” link to view the status (used, unused, expired) of keys created.
