2021 Federal Benefits Open Season

The 2021 Federal Benefits Open Season runs from Monday, November 8 to midnight (ET) Monday, December 13, 2021. During this period, you have the opportunity to enroll, change plans or plan options, change enrollment type, or cancel enrollment for Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) and Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). You also have the opportunity to re-enroll or newly enroll in the Federal Flexible Spending Account (FSAFEDS) program.

Open Seasons Tips

  • Review your current benefit elections through your Employee Personal Page (EPP) account.  Verify your mailing address and that beneficiary forms are current.
  • Review your 2021 health care expenses.
  • Visit the 2021 Virtual Benefits Fair to get the latest information on FEHB, FEDVP, and FSAFEDS.  Find out about changes to programs, compare plan provisions and premiums, and register for webinars hosted by representatives.
  • Use Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Open Season Resources and Government Executive's Open Season To-Do List for resources to make navigating open season easier.

Changes to elections must be made by Monday, December 13, 2021. If you are already enrolled in FEHB and/or FEDVIP, those enrollments will continue as long as your plan is still participating.  You must re-enroll in FSAFEDS to participate for 2022.
