TBT-11-005 Final Rule on the Manufacturer Identification Code for Textiles and Wearing Apparel

BACKGROUND:

The final rule on the use of the Manufacturer Identification code (MID) for textiles and wearing apparel modifies the interim rule that came about as a consequence of the expiration of the Agreement on Textiles and Clothing on January 1, 2005.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has determined that the interim rule, published as CBP Dec. 05-32 in the Federal Register (70 FR 58009) should be adopted as a final rule, with the change outlined below and in the Federal Register (76 FR 14575).
