Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Construction and Operation of a New Marine Facility at Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces the availability of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Final Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Proposed Construction and Operation of a New Marine Facility in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.  The project will support critical needs of the CBP mission by providing the CBP Office of Air and Marine’s Mayaguez Marine Unit with a new facility that complies with current CBP security requirements and design standards.  CBP will construct the new facility on a parcel of land (0.32 acres) located in the Balneario de Boquerón in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico managed by the Puerto Rico National Parks Company.

Based on the Final EA, it has been determined that the proposed action will not significantly affect the human and natural environments.  Therefore, CBP completed a FONSI and does not need to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement.   For further information please contact Mr. Dennis Lew via email at dennis.lew@cbp.dhs.gov or by mail using the following address:
