The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces the availability of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) Supporting the Anapra Fence Replacement and Associated Road Renovations, El Paso Sector, Doña Ana County, New Mexico. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq., CBP has prepared the Final EA to identify and assess the potential impacts associated with the proposed replacement of the existing Anapra pedestrian fence and renovation of associated access roads (i.e., the Proposed Action). The purpose of the Proposed Action is to replace the existing pedestrian fencing to deter illicit cross border activity and enhance the safety and security of border communities and Border Patrol agents.
