Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding Of No Significant Impact (FONSI) Addressing Proposed Tactical Infrastructure Maintenance And Repair Along The U.S./Mexico International Border In Texas

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces that a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Final Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) are now available. The Final EA analyzes the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects associated with the proposed maintenance and repair of existing tactical infrastructure within the U.S. Border Patrol’s five Border Patrol Sectors along the U.S./Mexico international border in Texas: El Paso, Big Bend, Del Rio, Laredo, and Rio Grande Valley (i.e., the Proposed Action). Based on the Final EA and the mitigation measures to be implemented, the project would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment and further analysis is not required. Therefore, a FONSI was issued and an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.
